The trend for wallpaper has been taken to whole new level by Californian company B+N.
Their fabulous range of Iconic Panels come in a beautiful range of cut
designs and can be mounted on the wall. The panels are created by using
an innovative process of formed laminate over a carved wood core.
Incredibly durable, they can be sawn, nailed, screwed, glued, or simply
mounted on walls. Available in a variety of colors, finishes and 11
minimal bold patterns inspired by well-known symbols, people and
destinations, these wall pieces add dimension to any home or
environment. We love them. by Colleen Coghlan

Refresh your outlook. Put the Alps, the Caribbean, Tuscany, a model
railway, an aquarium or stuffed animals on your walls. Due to a new
production method, it is now possible to manufacture wallpapers in
small volumes. This enables the new Berlin-based company Extratapete
to produce new vivid alternatives to the large-volume mainstream. In
case you do not find suitable wallpapers for your demand in the
collection, you can supply Extratapete's team with a motif and they
will design a unique wallpaper that meets your request. by Yvan Rodic

Ah, wall design. Taking a dead space and bringing it to life. Enhancing
a room with strategic design elements on a wall or two or four. Blik Wall Graphics
are presently available with over two dozen design decals and many
dozen color choices. Inspiration from Eames and Haring to Space
Invaders and Flower Power, Blik has something for everyone. These
oversized, self-adhesive decals are conveniently removable and begging
for the chance to liven your space. by Isla Vedre

The wallpaper revival is about to become a serious phenomenon in the world of interiors with the launch of the world's first magnetic wallpaper.
And no, it's not just so you can hang your shopping list or little
Lilly's preschool drawing on the living room wall. The magnetic feature
of the paper is all about allowing you to customize the design of your
interior wall space. Basically, you get to make up your design using
the wallpaper as a background. Created by Pepper-Mint,
a London based design company, the concept has been dubbed Magnetic
Interior Landscapes. Now, all you need is the eye of an artist and your
home's walls can become one great big canvas. by Lisa Evans

The trend for using polished concrete in interiors has just taken on a
fantastic new twist. Now you can dress the humble gray building
material up with a wallpaper finish, thanks to design firm Concrete Blonde
from the UK. Available in different sizes, colors, bespoke patterns and
continuous lengths (if cast on site make) the application possibilities
for concrete wallpaper are vast. We predict a concrete wallpaper craze
- expect to see the sexy new trend in a bar near you soon. by Billy T

Bachelors beware, using the I cant Cook line will soon be extinct with
the introduction of this brilliant robotic cook wear system from Vita-Craft.
Each individual pot and pan from the range have built in sensors and
microchips in their handles which communicate with the matching cook
top stove. The cook top itself is flame free and consists of a RFID
computer chip.
Used in conjunction with micro chipped recipe cards, the user simply
places the recipe card in the water filled pot and waits for
instructions. Between themselves, the pot, cook top and recipe card
communicate and let the user know how to cook the recipe from water
temperature right through to simmering techniques. I wonder if they
have a bunny card for Glen Close? by Andy G

German design isn't only about cars (but we're eternally grateful to them for giving us BMW). The clever folk at Muller,
a German furniture design company, are moving in on Scandinavian's
territory as masters in sleek interiors. All of Muller's pieces are
made from sheet metal, which is then painted in an array vibrant
colours. We're loving the roller wagons, a range of mobile containers
(which come open, with a shelf or closed with a drawer). The wagons
come on castor wheels so they're perfect for apartment living. by Billy T

Finally, a coat peg worthy of your Helmut Lang jacket. Created by French artist Adrien Rovero,
the black powder coated steel pegs are crafted into cameos. Typical of
the 18th century, the black paper silhouettes are a sleek addition to
any wall. In fact they're almost too nice to conceal. Looks like the
Helmut Lang stays in the wardrobe. by Lisa Evans

A few months ago we featured the "light up your life" trend... that was only the beginning... Light keeps on illuminating our life in surprising ways. A new example comes from Johanna Hyrkas,
a Finnish designer/architect/artist who puts poetry on the floor with
her light carpet. It isn't a disco dance-floor but it will enhance the
complexion of your pedicured feet, your Chihuahua or your children.
What more could you want than to be able to walk in the light...by Yvan Rodic

Naomi
Dean is a cutting edge young designer who is no stranger to success.
Her participation in both the Milan Furniture Fair 2005 and the
Birmingham Furniture Show gained her notoriety and spread her work
extensively through the world's biggest interior design and furniture
magazines.
Taking a look at her brilliant wardrobe
design, we can see why the spotlight is pinned on this young creative
designer. The
incredibly space efficient wardrobe is a two piece
split design which fits into itself nicely. With rich aesthetics
gracing the outside face, reminiscent of a high end display
cabinet, the wardrobe hides an array of secrets within. The front
facing pulls forward to reveal a rack, interior space and bottom level
shelf space. Perfect for interiors with limited space, Deans piece is
as efficient as it is beautiful. by Billy T

Tom Dixon
is a remarkably progressive designer who's work pushes
the traditional boundaries of interior furnishings. His
soft system sofa series (try saying that 3 times quickly) is a
wonderful example of his unique creativity. Available in a corner unit,
one armed sofa, and chair, the range is an upholstery system which
is solely constructed from multi density foam upon a wooden
structure. Space like in its form the soft system sofa is simple in its
visual delivery whilst achieving its desire for maximum comfort. by Andy G

"Simon, Tahiti sounds nice! ". At first sight, it
reminds you of the Imperial Leather T.V ad from the early 80's, where
the family (along with a baby duck) are bathing in their spa on a jet.
This is about fifty times cooler!
The new Seaside from Italian Spa maestros Teuco
takes the indoor spa to a whole new level. What is great about the
Seaside is not only the way it looks, but the ideology behind it. Named
after the four elements, the Seaside's features are as follows. Water: The illuminated waterfall flows in a ribbon of light Air: The delicate blower disperses millions of tiny bubbles Earth: The seating area is raised and enjoys a gentle intrusion of subtle waves Fire: The underwater light and temperature controlled heater keeps the spa cosy in colder climates.
Aside
from these fundamental elements, you would be hard pressed finding a
spa that is more seamless in its design and more luxurious in its form.

Lets
face it, the only thing good about a Laundromat is the prospect of
meeting someone cute as you sort through your underwear, otherwise the
concept is a drag. Well picking up aside, the Whirlpool Bodybox
is about to change all of that. The body box is an all rounder
technological clothes care wonder. By integrating daily clothes care
functions such as washing, conditioning, sorting, collecting and
tumbling, the body box makes laundry an automated process. The clever
system tags individual clothing in order of fabric type and collects,
separates and cleans the clothes accordingly. The programming is
accessed by both internet and an 18 inch touch panel screen. With the
laundry dealt with, one can move over to the personal care side of the
Bodybox and utilize the luxury of the adjacent sink, shower and steam
bath cabin, making less about laundry and more about you! by Andy G

The
old saying goes everything but the kitchen sink. Well this is
everything and the kitchen sink. Introducing the all in one cooking
sink by Kohler.
The self rimming sink is perfect for all water based cooking such as
boiling, poaching and steaming. The spacious cleverly designed
surroundings are generous enough to accommodate a large boiling pot as
well as a user friendly chopping board nearby. Less is more in this
case. Clever cooking. by Andy G

The act of hanging up coats or shirts is pretty
much a requisite activity in the civilized world. Throw status quo out
the window when it comes to the hardware one might utilize within the
closet or on a wall hook. Thorsten Van Elten introduces the Flying Hooks by Bos & Couvee.
These hangers are available as single or a set of four for replacement
of your ho-hum hangers. You already think your clothes are fly; why not
let them look as if they are flying as well? by Isla Verde

The
plot of a book, play or film should contain compelling storylines to
garner any attention. Likewise, the objects used in a space to define
it or enhance it should possess a gripping plot. Studio Frederik Roije
brings these cool anodised aluminum storage shelves fittingly named
"Storylines" to the masses. These shelves are available in six
colors and two dimensions and we would like to be the first ones to say
that the plot has definitely thickened in the story of shelving
options. by Isla Verde

Pick
up the phone, invite 30 friends over and chill out on Luna. This latest
piece of "super furniture" was unveiled last month at the Skylight

characterised by its shallow craters and smooth curves. The piece is
designed to seat up to 30 people comfortably in 1970s inspired luxury.
Constructed from wood, steel and polyurethane foam, the 100% wool
upholstered Luna took over 2000 hours to build. Go to www.dune-ny.com

London based furniture and product designer,
Jordi Llopis has created a unique lighting concept that is portable,
hangable and above all, practical. Lifelight lamp is a sleek designed
lighting system that is strong and durable enough to be handled and
placed just about anywhere. Its shape allows it to be hung on any wall
the way that a picture would be placed, allowing you to create an ever
changing lighting environment in a vertical setting. The Lifelight can
also be placed on the floor, and in mass these beautifully shaped lamps
look like a modern art installation, giving your living room an
ultra-hip gallery effect. Lifelight is available from metalarte.com

One of the great things about summer is a pool party and that usually
means a little moonlight skinny-dipping. Well, at the best pool parties
it does, anyway. Lighten things up a little with these sexy, funky,
waterproof pool lamps from Spanish design gurus metalarte. Watch them
bob gently on the surface like ghostly standard lamps. Designed by
Hector Serrano, the lamps really are the shape of pools - and pool
parties - to come, and available through selected design retailers. The rechargeable lamps are moulded from tough,
waterproof polyethylene and cost around $450 each. Darkness would be
cheaper but not half as cool or half as much fun. Check out Metalarte's
good-looking web site www.metalarte.com by Billy T
